The gameplay of GeoGuessr Free is simple to understand but surprisingly deep. At the start of each round, players are placed in a random location anywhere in the world. You can rotate the camera, move along roads, and explore your surroundings just like walking through the streets in real life. Once you feel confident, you place a marker on the world map to guess your location.

Your score depends on how close your guess is to the actual location. The closer you are, the more points you earn. While the controls are minimal, the real challenge lies in observation and deduction. You must rely on visual clues such as road signs, languages, landscapes, architecture, climate, and even the direction of traffic to narrow down your guess.
